Ketamine Therapy is Here Logan, UT!

RMMH is excited to bring Ketamine therapy to Cache Valley!

What is it?

Ketamine is a pain-relieving anesthetic medication that calms and relaxes the body.  We know that stress on the brain damages neurons, and studies have shown that ketamine can re-establish interrupted nerve connections that are necessary to process and overcome traumatic memories.  Ketamine has a rapid and profound effect on the brain which makes it an excellent treatment for acute conditions such as suicidal ideation, anxiety, migraines and pain.

Currently, it is used off-label for treatment of:

 - Depression
 - Anxiety and Panic Disorder
 - OCD
 - PTSD
 - Post-Partum Depression
 - Bipolar Depression
 - Drug/Alcohol Abuse
 - Chronic Pain
 - Migraines
 - Cluster Headaches
 - Fibromyalgia
 - Neuropathic Pain
 - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

How does this work?

A single ketamine treatment may help relieve symptoms rather quickly, but it may only last a few days.  Therefore, we perform a series of treatments so that improvement lasts much longer.  For depression and psychiatric symptoms, we recommend two treatments each week for three consecutive weeks.  For chronic pain, migraine headaches and fibromyalgia, the treatment is once daily for five consecutive days.  Results may last days, weeks or months depending on your unique makeup.  There is no way to predict how any single person will respond to ketamine therapy.

Will ketamine therapy help if I have treatment-resistant depression?

Yes.  If you have been frustrated by prescription medications that just never seem to work, ketamine is a great option!  Most patients with treatment-resistant depression experience significant relief after ketamine therapy.  While some patients will notice improvement in mood, concentration, self-esteem, impaired sleep, decreased sexual desire, impaired appetite and suicidal thoughts after the first treatment, most patients show signs of improvement within 2-3 treatments.

Will my insurance cover this treatment?

It might!  Schedule an appointment with us and we can review your insurance plan to see if your treatments can be covered!

Feel free to call, text, email or set up a telehealth or in-person appointment to ask any additional questions!
